Monthly Kids’ Yoga Workshops with Maya

Do you want to introduce your child to the practice of yoga? Does your child always ask you what you do when you come to Yonder? Then this workshop is definitely for your child! Through breath and movement, our young yogis will develop self-confidence, self-awareness and self-control. Starting a yoga practice at a young age establishes a foundation for a strong mind and body. My goal is for our young yogis to learn the basics of yoga as well as how to take their yoga practice off the mat into everyday life.

Investment: $30 per class or $100 for all five sessions.

Monthly Prenatal Class with Sarah

Sundays at 2 pm at the Westside

September 12th, October 3rd, November 7th, December 5th

This class is the perfect opportunity for expecting and new moms to learn not only how to safely practice yoga during pregnancy and postpartum but also how to use yoga and meditation to ease common pregnancy discomforts, prepare for an easier labor and help speed postpartum recovery. As a registered prenatal yoga teacher, I’m thrilled to share some of my favorite yoga tips and tricks for a happier, healthier pregnancy and postpartum. We’ll flow through a mini prenatal power flow, learn what poses to avoid/modify during a traditional yoga class, and end with a calming meditation for some ever-important stress relief.

Meditation Workshop with Rachel

Meditation is known to reduce stress, anxiety, depression, and even pain.  It increases cognitive functioning and self-awareness, builds emotional resilience, and supports well-being. But for so many of us, it seems like an unachievable feat that only the “supremely zen” yogis can master. Whether you are convinced you can’t meditate, interested in understanding how to cultivate a practice, or are in need of a reset to boost your meditation practice, this workshop is for you. We will get curious and explore what it means to be in present moment awareness, learn different ways to meditate, and practice some guided meditations along the way. You’ll leave with a better idea of how to integrate meditation into your yoga practice and how to experience mindful moments in your daily life.

Chakras Workshop with Caroline

Learn to awaken and activate your chakras – your main energy centers within.  This chakra workshop offers an understanding of the chakras and how they relate to your overall well-being.  Learn another modality to get unstuck or to continue to grow so you can be your true vibrant Self.  As you tune in to your own energy centers during our yoga flow, you will be guided to stimulate and balance each chakra with the aim to feel centered physically and emotionally.  Learn this powerful tool to better understand yourself, your subtle energy and how to make shifts to rebalance and re-energize body, mind and spirit.

Beginners Arm Balancing Workshop with Joanna

This workshop is about demystifying the techniques involved in flying. Learn to get off your feet and onto your hands. Come with an open mind and a willingness to play as we explore poses such as crow, side crow, 8 angle pose and more. Building from the ground up, we will work on keeping your body safe and supported as you challenge gravity. Arm balancing IS for you. You ARE strong enough.

Sound Bath Meditation with Jonathan Adams

Sunday, October 17th at 6:30 pm at Westside

Jonathan Adams (a.k.a. Sonic Yogi) found Sound Therapy after an experience with extreme anxiety.  As a professional musician, he knew the potential of music to entertain and move our emotions. Now following this experience, he discovered its power as a healing force. In this special event, you can expect relaxing sounds with Flute, Guitar, Himalayan Singing Bowls and other sound therapy instruments designed to help you into a meditative state. Alpha and Theta states are associated with relaxation, creativity and connection with the subconscious. Journey inwards as the sounds gently entrain the brain and body towards meditative brainwave states.

Inversions Workshop with Rob

Do you want to learn how to take your practice upside down? Are you looking for tools and tricks to find a little more hang-time in your handstand? Have you always wanted to incorporate inversions into your practice, but you’re scared to try them in class? This is the workshop for you! Great for both inversion-junkies and those new to the inversion practice, this workshop will guide you through the alignment, tricks, drills, and skills to take you practice upside down. We will breakdown handstands, headstands, and forearm balance and give you time to practice and play with individualized feedback and guidance.
