I started practicing yoga when I was recovering from knee surgery to repair a torn ACL and meniscus. It was the first activity my physical therapist cleared me to do and I thought it would just be a phase of my recovery process. I enjoyed it so much that I never stopped practicing. I found that although it was a much more gentle activity that what I had been doing for exercise, it was just as effective and fulfilling.
I love the balance of yoga being an individual practice and also a group activity. As a student, I love being surrounded by others and I am powered by the collective energy in the room. As an instructor, I aim to give you a place to feel comfortable practicing yoga in the way that best serves you. I encourage the use of props and modifications so that you are able to walk out of the studio feeling proud of yourself for doing your best and excited to come back for another class.
