I stumbled upon my yoga practice during a transitional period of my life. As I was shouldering the stress of changing roles in my higher education career at UGA, my friend and fellow teacher Allison invited me to try a Yonder flow. Though the heat and the practice itself initially intimidated me, I was drawn to the rhythm of the low impact movements and the trial-and-error-friendly environment created in the studio. With a background in Health and Physical Education and a long history of sports-related injuries, I found yoga to be a uniquely beautiful balance of push and flow, challenge and acceptance, all in one space. Outside of Yonder, you can find me at local sporting events, enjoying the Athens music and arts scene, or on UGA’s campus welcoming its many prospective students! Finding the balance between give and take is yoga’s welcomed challenge, and there is peace in accepting that some days will require more of one than the other. As a yoga teacher, I hope to foster a joyful, encouraging environment that provides a space for all yogis to glean whatever good they need during their practice. An hour of good music, good energy, and a good time guaranteed! Hope to see you soon, friends!
