After fracturing my toe during a kickboxing class, I decided to find an “easy” workout, so I signed up for yoga! Five minutes in, I realized this was NOT an easy practice. By the end of Savasana, there were tears of joy running down my cheeks, and I knew I would be back the next day. And the next day. And the next.

For the first few months of practice, I was filled with a mix of emotions. I was grateful for this new opportunity to work on my spiritual, mental, and physical fitness. I was also sad every time I saw that many people on the mats around me didn’t look like me at all.

Fast forward about one year, I decided to pursue Yoga Teacher Training. My “why” was simple: EVERYONE DESERVES HEALING. I knew that I wanted to have the tools to bring the healing qualities of  the yoga practice to underserved communities and every single body type. I knew that becoming a teacher would be one small step to diversifying my yoga community.

During YTT, I was introduced to Yin Yoga. Wheeeeew! It was love at first pose! As someone who is always busy and moving at turbo speed, Yin changed my life. The opportunity to slow my mind, my breath, and my body has completely transformed me for the better!

I am currently pursuing my Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I am an auntie to two of the sweetest girls on the planet. I’m a mama to three plants and my sweet pup, Sage. I am so excited to share the yin practice with you – the yoga community will never be able to get rid of me!
