About Your Leader

Hi future yoga teachers! My name is Charlotte, and I am so excited and honored to be your lead trainer for the upcoming Yonder Teacher Training in January. If you are saying to yourself, “I don’t know if I am ready for training,” then I totally get that. We all like to think that we either don’t have enough time, or maybe we haven’t been practicing yoga long enough. Or maybe we still hate revolved chair pose (which let’s face it, everyone hates chair pose). As someone who got certified without being able to do crow or headstand, I hear you. As someone who completed my training in early 2012 but didn’t teach until late 2014, I understand where you are coming from. As someone who was terrified to teach for so long, I get it. But I encourage you to think about this one little phrase: “Show up before you’re ready.”

We can wait until we feel ready, but that means we will be waiting forever. And I don’t know about you, but for me, some of the best things I have ever done are because I showed up, all in, before I felt ready. So show up and try. Show up before your warrior two looks perfect. Show up before your busy life slows down. Show up, and see what happens. Your time is now.

“When I was approached about completing teacher training, my first thought was “No way, I’m not ready. I want to be better at yoga before I do teacher training.” Ironically, there’s always a process and a path to be “better” at yoga. The Yonder team was persistent and encouraged me to come meet the team at a social. I was warned that the minute I met them, I would never say “no.” I went to the social with my reservations, but sure enough, after meeting the amazing Yonder crew, I knew there was no way I could turn back. The energy, enthusiasm, support and positivity that these people possessed was both intoxicating and contagious. Completing teacher training was hands-down the best choice I made to kick-off 2019. Not only did it create a new space for me to deepen my practice and my understanding of the “why” of yoga, but teacher training gave me a network of incredible human beings that I am fortunate enough to now call my friends. Teacher training helped me learn more about myself, my relationships, and my practice. If I had known just how powerful the three month experience would be, I wouldn’t have doubted it for a second. I cannot speak more highly of Yonder and their teacher training program. I’m grateful every day that they wouldn’t take no for answer and that I now can call myself part of this awesome tribe.”

– Katie Kimball, Yonder Yoga Instructor

“I completed my RYT 200 with Yonder earlier this year, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for myself. The entire training, from our rockstar teacher and fearless leader to the trainee class, and from learning about anatomy to learning about both the physical and spiritual side of yoga, was a remarkable experience. Teacher training not only deepened my personal yoga practice, but it opened me up to an entirely new perspective. I started this journey with the goal of becoming a yoga teacher and ended it with so much more. I have a new appreciation for the meaning of yoga along with an amazing community that I get to share my love for yoga with. I highly recommend Yonder’s teacher training program if you are looking to take your practice and awareness of yoga to the next level.”

– Steph Geissinger, Yonder Yoga Instructor
